Luke 15 Explore the cause of “going astray” or being “caught in a sin”
1. Lost sheep—gradually dominating sin
2. Lost coin ---outside circumstances (i.e. relationships, discouragement, trauma)
3. Lost son------rebellion
Examine vs. 11-31 and trace the cycle of “becoming distant” and then “returning home”
Examine the verbs in the parable
Practical questions:
- Where do you see yourself in this process?
- What have you learned and what steps have you taken to ensure that you won’t be caught again?
- Is there any lingering guilt or distant feeling we should discuss?
- What brothers or sisters will stay involved to specifically helping you through this critical time?
- What specific steps need to be taken to complete your restoration to God and or the body of Christ?
